Sweet. In the current beta/demo going, you can go to options and set up a twitter account, and the game will tweet your progress when a certain something happens. First, you can input your twitter username and password, and then go to events, and select what sort of thing you want to tweet. There is a few options here you can turn on or off, these are: When connecting to multiplayer When a cinema file is uploaded When a chapter is complete When earning multiplayer money When earning trophies When reaching a level milestone I think this is a great idea, people will see the achievements you have completed without you actually doing it. I can go to twitter now, and search for #UNCHARTED2 and see what people are up to, how much money they have earnt in a nice and clean format. I have put "on" on two of the options above, when reaching a level milestone and when earning multiplayer money. So far it has tweeted my progress twice, and im not sure what time it tweets at, maybe when you log off or at a certain time, but I can't really tell for sure. At least it is not updating every second, like thetimesplitter earned $1000, then another tweet saying i earned another $1000 playing multiplayer, it lumps it together which is good to avoid spam. This is a nicely included feature in Uncharted 2. Hope there are more little great things like this. PS you can view my twitter by hitting the twitter link to the left there, or by going to twitter.com/thetimesplitter |

I will be putting up some articles from the beta here so you can hear my impressions of it. Firstly, I will post what you get to do in the demo/beta: Multiplayer - you go here to play. According to IGN, there is 4 competitve game modes (I have only played eliminations) There is 2 co-op modes, Gold Rush/Arena, and normal objective based game. The answer is, drumroll ..... Batman: Arkham Asylum.
Good game so far. I also bought The Godfather II along with it. Those two games should keep my going for quite awhile Other good games this year I MIGHT be purchasing: God of War collection, Uncharted 2, Gran Turismo 5, Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Pro Evolution soccer 2010.Also anything else good that catches my eye, Batman for example I was never really anticipating, because well, those games don't usually turn out that good. That is all for now. |

124 total pictures, compared to 600 last year. Wow, what a decrease in photos sent it by players only a year on! Lets look at some of the reasons why there were so little entries for Staff Appreciation Week on bootleggers.
Declining player base - players and declining on bootleggers, interest is being lost. I myself have not been playing like how I was a year ago. It seems that people are losing interest and quitting the game, or not participating in such activited.
Excluding several staff members - 1 Help Desk Operator and 3 Bootcast DJ's do not have pictures submitted for them. While DJ bootcasts are not as high profile as say a moderator, the could still have their friends submit pictures if they had a picture up there to print. But this didn't happen. Also, it seems a bootcast DJ tried to submit his picture to BSF but we all know how bad he is at updating stuff quickly.
Less player creativity - Last year, it was all about creativity. You had to make your own sign. Creativity went into this, and it really shone through in SAW 2008. In fact it's great to read all of the signs. This year, it's mandatory that you have to print off the picture sent in by a staff member. Loss of player creativity right there. This is certainly the main reason, as I know people who have tried to create their own signs, only to have their photos rejected. Last year, this would not of hapenned.
Having to print the picture - This can exclude many people, who don't have a printer, or like me use a laptop computer not connected to any printer.
There you go, just some of my thoughts as to why SAW this year has declined so much from last year. We will see what will happen next year as I sure BSF2000 will change the format, somehow. |

Bootleggers: Approximate number of SAW entries for last year - 600 Current entries for 2009 version (which I assume will end on Monday) 65 Is it because of the creativity? is it because of the new print out a picture rule (which you can read about in some of my other articles), because maybe the staff are not doing such a great job? or another reason. All questions worth pondering. |
